Panoramic images

I love the panoramic feature on my Canon S3. I've been hesitant to post the panoramic photos on my blog because they are difficult to view. The web site Panoye comes to the rescue. They allow you to post panoramic pictures and embed a pan-able (is that a word?) view of the photo on your blog. Panoye is also linking the photos to a Google map in an effort to create a panoramic view of the world!

Here's a panorama from the Sandy Hook hawk watch platform. The directional part came out incorrect and I couldn't figure out how to change it. Cool site though.

Wow, it's like I'm up there with you!

So did you have to twirl in a really slow circle to get that view?

;-)

I spent a couple hours this morning up there with the counter - got a terrific sunburn and terrific views of a male Wilson's in that little cherry facing NYC.

Cool feature!

I did have to twist in a slow circle and hold the camera pretty steady. Most point-and-clicks have this feature and the software does a nice job stitching it together. It helps to not have clouds or anything that might be moving across the frames.

Hi Patrick,

Glad you like panoye ;) Thank you very much for this "mini review" ofthe site...

If you want to re-orientate your panorama (to set right the directional part) log-in on the site, go to your panorama's page and select "Panorama options -> Orientate" (the link is on the uper right part of the page). If you have any more questions feel free to ask.

Hi Puzz,

I still don't get it! I click on the image and nothing happens. I am using IE6, so maybe that's the problem.

Pretty cool. I have never used my panaromic image making software. This made me interested in trying it out. Thanks for sharing this.
