The National Wildlife Federation recently held a nature haiku contest. The winners have been revealed. Here's my favorite:
Behold…Platypus!

That's a bit harsh on the poor Platypus isn't it? ;-)
My landlady had one not far from her Queensland (Australia) home and it got featured on a National Geographic issue.

Alan, thanks for the comment. I have seen Tawny Frogmouths at the zoo here in the US. I would love to see one in person someday. I guess I should check the golf course!
