Baby Belardo and the WSB
It has thus been determined that Baby Belardo is a boy! Let the blue clothing pour in.
The World Series of Birding is this Saturday. It came on quick this year. After the great fun and success of the Super Bowl of Birding in January, I wanted to have a team of bloggers and do a whole state run. Well, schedules of the members of the Super Bowl teams didn't work out (except for Christopher) and my schedule wasn't cooperating, so I decided to delay an all-blogger WSB run for next year. I just didn't have time to do any real scouting and planning. Some may say it will be even harder next year with Baby Boy Belardo, but I will make the time. So, this year, I will be once again be assisting with the "Sandy Hook Century Run." We'll try to see how many species we can see only at Sandy Hook. Check out last year's results. Wish us luck and wish us GOOD WEATHER!!!

Congrats. The key to a "rich man's family" is to have your son first, then your daughter, then stop because three or more kids will make you poor!
On the other hand, there are more bird-inspired girl's names than boy's names...
Bobolink Belardo!!
(Bobby for short!)
Congratulations! You'd better get some birding in while you still have a chance! The upside of the deal is that you will get a lot of joy out of teaching your son about birds and birding.
I'm with Lynne; name the boy Bobolink!
Congrats...though is finding out the baby's gender something that requires congrats? Would we be offering condolences if you found out you were having a girl?
Yay for the future Baby Belardo! The best thing about finding out what gender your baby will be is that it's guaranteed good news! :) Boys are wonderful and so are girls! Enjoy!
"You will make the time"?
Whoa, quite optimistic, ey?
You see, Patrick, as a father of a 17 months old, I can assure you that your time schedules will be organized not by you but by Baby Boy Bellardo. So keep him happy, all the time, and he might feel inclined to let you go birding sporadically...
Birders, by the way, are doing it wrong: after the birth of my son, I learned of three other birders expecting babies and they are ALL expecting sons, so it is 4:0 for the boys.
Come on, how will our sons ever find birding wives if we don't help as much as we can?
Cheers, congrats on the Boy. Boys rock!
Well, girls may rock too, but I don't know as I only have a boy. And he sure rocks hard.
Bobolink Belardo. I love it!
Thanks everyone. Bobolink does have a nice ring to it.
I'm late to the party...sorry. I'm still on W. Va. mountain time.
A boy. I'm thrilled for you.
Congrats!
And good weather and great birding!
