Wait, what's this? An actual post! Watch the trailer below for the British film, Pelican Blood, based on the novel by Cris Freddi. The main character is a birder or a twitcher as the case may be. Warning: Foul language.

Hey, welcome back!
But frankly, a video link isn't really what we were all waiting for...

You want baby photos? I did find a Western Grebe a few weeks ago here in NJ...

YES, we want baby photos - or more precise: stroller photos!

And yes, a Western Grebe in NJ seems like a blog-worthy topic as well.

Well, I've never seen one in NJ.
I have also never seen NJ, so there you have it.
Wait - I did: from NYC's Liberty Island - no grebe though but my life and only Laughing Gulls!

I reviewed this book a few years ago--in Birding, maybe?--and have been eagerly awaiting the movie. I only wish it came with English subtitles.
Happy Thanksgiving!

So I take it you liked the book, Rick? I'll have to add it to my reading list.

Yes, liked it very much. A bit of Camus here, a little Dostoyevsky there, but very powerful when all is said and done. And a great glimpse into twitcher culture, which is like nothing in existence on this side of the Atlantic.

I can only hope this film makes it to St. Catharines, ON (usually they only get to Toronto).

Smashing soundtrack! I heard Metric's (Canadian indie-rock band) 'Monster Hospital' in the trailer.

Thanks for sharing. I'll have to look for the novel as well.

Trailer looks wild. Does anyone know when it's coming out?
